Are you stuck in a rut? Are you feeling locked in a certain path and don’t know how to break free? It happens to all of us who try and live our lives intentionally. On our quest to climb a corporate ladder, grow in our relationship with our Heavenly Father, grow a nonprofit… whatever it is, a flat spots comes along.
What do you do when the volunteers don’t show up? Who do you rely on when God seems to be removed from your life? How do we lead ourself in uncertainty in our business? What happens when nobody shows up for your small group? If we are already on our hustle and performing well, you need a door opened!
Big change can come from things that seem trivial at the time. Small hinges swing open big doors that we never dreamed of. Here are three areas that we can focus on to make sure we are providing those types of hinges.
1. Monitor your intake: In Watch What You Watch, I talked about the importance of what we allow to entertain, inform, and inspire us. Make sure you are reading good books, listening to uplifting and inspiring music, and listening to good podcasts.
2. Connect with a group: New connections bring about new opportunity, new community, and new influence. I have recently joined a Dale Carnegie Training class and I am so grateful for all the new relationships I have formed. I can’t wait to see how I can serve this group!
3. Hit the road: Your creativity and ability to look at things differently increase the farther you get away from your home and your routine. Hit the road! Find a good hotel and hang out at the pool with a few good books, an arm full of yellow pads, and time to burn. You may find your hinges right next the the mint on the pillow!
Have you bumped into something that helped you break though a plateau? Tell us about it in the comment section below! I want to have a conversation with you!
